High School Graduation Requirements

Students who started high school with the graduating classes of 2011 and 2012 need 22.5 credits to earn their diploma, while students in the classes of 2013 and later need 24 credits to earn their diploma. Credits must be earned in accordance with to the following subject area breakdowns:

Credit Breakdown (Classes of 2011 and 2012)

English = 4 credits
Mathematics = 3 credits
Science = 3 credits
Social Studies = 3 credits
Physical Education = 1.5 credits
Health = 0.5 credits
Financial Literacy = 0.5 credits
Electives = 7 credits

Freshman = 0 - 5.25 credits
Sophomore = 5.5 - 10.75 credits
Junior = 11 - 16.25 credits
Senior = 16.5 - 22.5 credits

Credit Breakdown (Classes of 2013 and Later)

English = 4 credits
Mathematics = 3 credits
Science = 3 credits
Social Studies = 3 credits
Physical Education = 1.5 credits
Health = 0.5 credits
Financial Literacy / Career Choices = 1 credit
Elective Reading = 2 credits
Choice Electives = 6 credits

Freshman = 0 - 5.75 credits
Sophomore = 6 - 11.75 credits
Junior = 12 - 17.75 credits
Senior = 18 - 24 credits

Students who fail to meet annual credit expectations may be required to attend summer school to make up the deficit.
