Patricia Hernandez, Principal
Patricia Hernandez serves as the Principal of TAGOS Leadership Academy; additionally, she serves as the College and Career Readiness Coordinator for the School District of Janesville. Mrs. Hernandez earned her bachelor's degree from UW-Stout with a major in Home Economics Education. For 18 years, she taught Family and Consumer Science. She taught the majority of her years at Bradford High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She earned a master's degree from Cardinal Stritch in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership. For three years, Mrs. Hernandez served as the instructional coach at Bradford High School. She has served Janesville School District as the College and Career Readiness Coordinator since 2016. In 2014, Mrs. Hernandez completed her Career and Technical Education Coordinator Certification from UW-Stout. Currently, she is enrolled in a doctoral program at Edgewood College and her dissertation interest is on school-community partnerships and how they can increase student engagement and close the achievement gap.
Mrs. Hernandez' vision as an educator is to inspire a passion for learning. She desires to prepare students to function successfully in the world beyond high school. She strives to create an educational environment that fosters democratic values, risk taking, and a love of learning. In addition to that, she desires to create a school where equal treatment, fairness, and respect for diversity is modeled, taught, and practiced. Mrs. Hernandez believes it is important to offer students opportunities to deveop their career decision-making and employability skills in an effort to gain an understanding of workplace cultures and expectations.
